August 2015: Workshop co-hosted at Critical Alternatives
Together with colleagues Dr. Marko Jurmu and Dr. Johanna Ylipulli, I co-hosted a workshop called I’ve Had it: Group therapy for interdisciplinary researchers at the The fifth decennial Aarhus conference, Critical Alternatives.
It was a one-day workshop in which we delved into the challenges of interdisciplinary work through sharing everyday experiences. We received also many ideas on how to continue developing this area into a community and how to keep the conversations going. We are hugely grateful to our participants — we the organisers definitely felt the therapeutic effect of communal problem-solving!
Book chapter accepted! Check out the Publications page for more details.
I had the pleasure of serving as assistant teacher to assoc. prof. Mark Shepard at the Sixth UBI Summer School here in Oulu, Finland. Our participants produced beautiful and thought-provoking design fictions in the form of short films.
May 2015: A month-long research visit to the UK
Visited the University of Nottingham, UK, where I was hosted by Jonathan Hale, an architect and Associate Professor & Reader in Architectural Theory. His personal research website is at bodyoftheory.com. I also briefly visited the University College London, where I was hosted by architect Ava Fatah.
